Jargon
  • Declension - noun group/family that shares a pattern (endings).
    • Declension = clan
      • The words in a declension look alike just like people in a family look alike.  E.g. some families all have the same color hair.
    • There are 5 Latin declensions.
  • first declension has “a” in most of its endings

  • second declension has “u” and “o” in most of its endings (you haven’t seen any “o” endings for second declension yet)

  • In the Stories section of your portfolio, finish writing a literal translation for lines 9-14.
    • We checked the translation together.
Reflection
  • In the reflection section of your portfolio, answer one of the following questions (at least 3 sentences):
    • What was my favorite/least favorite thing about Latin in the past 2 weeks? Why?
    • What is the most interesting thing I learned in Latin class (or from portfolio choices) in the past 2 weeks? Why?
    • What three new vocabulary or jargon words do I like the most?  Why?
·         We started talking about Hercules, Greece’s greatest hero.
o    Definitely better than Perseus and Thesus.
